National Talent Search Examination (NTSE) is such a scholarship program that was started as an initiative to identify and promote young academic talents in Highschool. NTSE is conducted in 2 stages. The first stage gets conducted at the state/union territory level and candidates who qualify the first stage are eligible for the second stage of the exam. 2000 scholarships are awarded every year to students who qualify for both stages of exams. NTSE Stage 2 paper consists of two 2 sections — Mental Ability Test (MAT) and Scholastic Ability Test (SAT).
